BNP breaks secrecy on search committee: Obaidul
jamuna news desk: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday said that BNP broke the secrecy about its proposal to the President on the formation of new Election Commission (EC) terming the BNP leader's statement as self-contradictory.
Quader said those in reply of the BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir who accused him of breaking secrecy of the talks.
“Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir accused me of breaking secrecy. Its their leader who broke the secrecy,” he said.
The AL leader said those while speaking at a memorial meeting on late AL leader MA Aziz at old Dhaka.
Dhaka South City Unit of Awami League organized the meeting with its General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad in the chair.
Quader also claimed that some of the BNP leaders have close links with the intelligence agencies and disclosed their proposed names fearing arrests.
Among others, AL Advisory Council Member Mojaffar Ahmed Paltu, Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam, President of Bangladesh Medication Association (BMA) Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation Syed Khokon, AL Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap also spoke on the occasion.
