Suranjit’s APS Faruq sentenced to 5yrs in graft case

jamuna news : Omar Faruq Talukder, assistant personal secretary to the then railway minister Suranjit Sengupta, was sentenced to five years imprisonment in a case filed for carrying illegal money.
Judge of Dhaka Special Court-4 Md Ataur Rahman issued the order on Sunday morning and sent him to jail. The court also fined him Tk 1.23 crore. In default, he will serve two years and six months more in jail.
The Anti-Corruption Commission filed the case against Faruq on August 14, 2012.
Earlier on April 11, 2012, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Tk 70 lakh from the car of Suranjit's APS Omar Faruq Talukder at the BGB headquarters.
