Chicken 1 kg (2 lb)
Ginger 2 tsp (shredded)
Garlic 1 tsp (crushed)
Turmeric 1 tsp (ground)

Red chilies 4 (dry whole)
Onion 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
Bay leaf 1
Cinnamon sticks 2 (2.5 cm piece)
Vinegar 2 tbsp
Cooking oil 1/2 cup

Cut the chicken into 10 pieces.
Place all ingredients in saucepan.
Mix well, cover and cook over a low heat for about one hour till meat is tender or put the covered pan in the oven at 180◦C (350◦F) for 1 hour.
Then bake uncovered until oil separates out.
Serve with chapatti, luchi, parata, plain pullao or fluffy boiled rice.
